Poppy Field

There is a lot I like about this print. The colors are vibrant and varied. The two main poppies appear to pop off the paper. While the minor flowers are flat and unassuming. In general the subjects are rendered with style. And then there are the two vertical lines on the left side of the print. The rough vertical edges seem both out of place and necessary to the composition. This type of detail I would find hard to add to my own work.

I actually own a copy of "Poppy Field", which is out of print. I think it was around the time that I purchased this print that I started to see what I was amassing as a personally curated collection. I have never been a collector. But (mostly) silk screened art prints are something I do find I enjoy collecting.
