Never Made "Luna"
Published: 12 May 2019 Artist: Francisco Reyes, Jr.
Never Made is as it again with their latest print "Luna". This follows on their color theme of subdued red, blue, gold and white (color of the paper). But this print is not some patriotic homage. Rather this print has a serine feeling, inspite of the large spider climbing up her arm.
To me this print drives home that what we think of as objective truth, spiders are scary beasts that should be killed, is cultural and learned. Bugs are people my friend! Or at least how we feel about bugs (or anything really) is solely in relation to our upbringing. Go humans!
This print has be conflicted. I like the design, the smooth curves, the peaceful look, that creeping spider, the balanced colors. But the price might just be a bit too high for me. Don't let that stop you from going forward and purchasing it!
